The BIG DIG: Footprints to Fossils Opens this weekend

World Reigning Sand Sculptor, Carl Jara, begins work on 25-tons of sand.

Toledo, Ohio – This Saturday, visitors to Imagination Station’s new exhibit The BIG DIG: Footprints to Fossils, will be thrust back into the time when dinosaurs roamed the earth and now only fossils remain. With over 5,000 square feet of exhibition space, The BIG DIG will put the ROAR back in dinosaur. We’re digging up bones, reconstructing skeletons and testing your dinosaur knowledge. Visitors can dig through local Devonian era shale and find fossils that they can keep. They can make fossil rubbings, excavate bones and reconstruct dinosaurs. They can even spend some time exploring our interactive maze. Answer the questions right and find your way out.

Saturday, May 29, we welcome sand sculptor, Carl Jara, to Imagination Station where all week long he’ll be sculpting over 25 tons of sand into a larger-than-life prehistoric scene.

Imagination Station, located on the downtown Toledo riverfront, is a science center dedicated to delivering science and technology based programming to youth and their families throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
