Navy Week
August 21-26, 2012
In celebration of Navy Week and the 200th Anniversary of the War of 1812, these weeklong activities are aimed to teach and inspire visitors about the Naval Branch of the United States Armed Forces.
Navy sailors from across the occupational spectrum will be volunteering throughout the week teaching visitors about their unique contributions to the naval force.
- Participate in hands-on activities including paper gliders, straw towers, Cartesian divers, heart pump and sound sandwiches.
- Try on protective gear from Toledo Police and Fire Departments.
- Take a turn behind the controls of the Navy flight simulator.
- Interact with Navy sailors and learn about their broad range of careers.
- Be awed by the precision of the Silent Drill Team.
- Enjoy the musical talents of the acclaimed Navy Band.
