Clifford the Big Red Dog Personal Appearance

Clifford the Big Red Dog will be making a personal appearance at Imagination Station to the delight of children and parents in the area. This lovable pup has been a popular character in children’s literature for over 40 years and is now coming to the science center for a one-time opportunity. Come meet Clifford in person and have your photo taken with him.
Clifford the Big Red Dog is an American children’s book series first published in 1963. Clifford was the runt of the litter, and was chosen by a city child named Emily Elizabeth Howard as her birthday present. No one expected Clifford to grow, but Emily Elizabeth’s love for her tiny red puppy changed Clifford dramatically. Before long, he was over 25 feet (7.6 m) tall, forcing the Howard family to leave the city and move to the open spaces of Birdwell Island.

Re-surgence – Arena Sculpture Construction
All summer long, a trio of local and regional artists, Sayaka Ganz, Greg Mueller and Steve Williams, will be constructing a sculpture at Imagination Station made from thousands of recycled blue, green and purple post-consumer items (measuring cups, spoons, toys). The artists are inviting the community to come out and lend a hand at constructing this fifty-foot long sculpture, titled Re-surgence, which will be the third work of public art to be permanently installed at the Huntington Center. The sculpture topographically depicts the Downtown section of the Maumee River.
Visitors to Imagination Station are asked to bring recycled products with them to donate to this artistic venture. Click on the picture below to see what type of items they are looking for.
