The Imagination Station comes to your classroom with all the materials needed for one hour of exciting hands-on learning. We know you’re busy, so we provide all the Pre- and Post-activities to make a larger impact and reduce your time planning lessons.

Newton’s Roller Coasters
In this WOW, students explore the history and physics of exciting thrill rides! Students experiment with velocity, momentum, acceleration, centripetal force and Galileo’s simple roller coaster. Participants will have the opportunity to work in groups to challenge themselves and each other while they construct their own scream machines!
Recommended Grade Level: Grades 3-8
Fossils Rock!
Students get to go back in time, in this WOW, by using scientific inquiry to discover the world of dinosaurs. Students will gain a new understanding of the food web cycle. They will also be able to investigate and categorize fossils as well as discuss possible carers that relate to uncovering fossils.
Recommended Grade Level: Grade K-5
Chemistry
In this WOW, students will explore the difference between chemical and physical changes and endothermic and exothermic reactions. They will investigate chemistry concepts with a combination of exciting demonstrations and hands-on activities.
Recommended Grade Level: Grade 3-8
Healthy Habits
Students develop a better understanding of good nutrition and the role it plays in a healthy lifestyle, in this WOW. They’ll learn the importance of eating healthy foods and the effects on the body of a diet high in fat and cholesterol. Students become more empowered to make good food choices.
Recommended Grade Level: Grades K-5
Global Warming and Alternative Energy
In this WOW, students will explore the concepts of potential and kinetic energy and the use of sunlight for power. Students will gain an understanding of how changes in our environment affect the people, plants and animals who inhabit the earth, how we can combine the use of nature and technology to create energy and how energy is transformed from one to another. Students will discover what changes they can make to help their environment and protect the earth.

STARLAB
Bring the night sky to your students with an engaging astronomy lesson they won’t soon forget! In this WOW, students will experience STARLAB, the portable planetarium that allows them to study the sun, moon, earth and the day and night sky without leaving their school. They’ll gain a new understanding of our galaxy and how scientists study the universe.
You’ll be amazed how excited your students will be once they’ve entered STARLAB. The Imagination Station will come to your school or community center and deliver one-hour of programming per session. Please note: A room 35’x35’x12’ is required to inflate the STARLAB. A gymnasium works best. One adult must be present with a facilitator at all times in the STARLAB.
Cost: $300 a session plus $.55/mile outside Lucas County
