Workshops on Wheels

It’s learning made easy! Imagination Station comes to your classroom with all the materials needed for one hour of exciting hands-on learning.  We know you’re busy so we’ll provide all the pre and post activities to make a larger impact and reduce your time planning lessons.  Chemistry, physics, health, biology… you name it, we have a program!

Choose from these great topics:

Newton’s Roller Coasters

Students will explore the physics behind these exciting thrill rides by experimenting with velocity, momentum, acceleration, and centripetal force!  They will learn how to get an egg to fall unharmed into a glass, pick up a marble using only motion and end the workshop by building their own scream machines.

Recommended Grade Level: Grade 3-8

Fossils Rock!

Let your students travel back in time using scientific inquiry to discover the world of dinosaurs.  During this workshop, students will become paleontologists digging for fossils and learn how scientists study animals that disappeared 65 million years ago.

Recommended Grade Level: Grade K-5

Chemistry

Chemistry has never been so interesting! Students will discover substances with strange and surprising properties, explore the differences between chemical and physical changes through experiments with film canister rockets and end the workshop by creating endothermic and exothermic reactions.

Recommended Grade Level: Grade 3-8

Healthy Habits

Students will explore the two key components to a healthy lifestyle, eating nutritious foods and getting enough exercise. This workshop lets your students investigate the heart as a muscle by using our heart pump, as well as learning how calories are used for energy with our calorie fountain.

Recommended Grade Level: Grade K-5

STARLAB

Your students will be amazed once they’ve entered our portable planetarium. STARLAB allows students to study the sun, moon, earth and the day and night sky without leaving school. They’ll gain a new understanding of our galaxy and how scientists study the universe.

A room 35’x35’x12’ is required to inflate the STARLAB. A gymnasium works best.  One adult must be present with a facilitator at all times in the STARLAB.

Cost: $300 for 1 hour of programming plus $.55/mile outside Lucas County.
