Learning Worlds

‘Learning Worlds’ is what we at Imagination Station call the specific areas of specialty.  Each of these Learning Worlds have been designed to focus on a specific science genre.  We have 6 Learning Worlds.

Imagination Station’s newest learning world, opening this spring, will offer visitors a glimpse into the abstract world of oil refining and solar energy. Using dozens of visually stimulating hands-on exhibits and personalized opportunities to contribute, Energy Factory is a 6000 sq. ft. permanent exhibit sponsored by BP Husky and First Solar.

Visitors can individually manipulate the energy output of a photovoltaic wall, or more effectively, participate as a group; play games using sunlight as the onlyvariable, or program a robotic arm. Our Ball Refinery engages even the littlest explorers as they separate colorful balls into different weight distillates, while the adjacent story wall offers an in depth lesson into oil refining using vivid pictures, animations and interactive technology.

Science Studio

This ever-changing space features hands-on activities for kids of all ages. Explore the properties of liquid nitrogen, create your own slimy polymers and learn about biology, physics and chemistry on a fun and exciting way! This exciting Learning World also features the Extreme Science Theater which takes every day science to a whole new level. This is where we explore combustion (which makes A LOT of noise), we crush 55 gallon drums and pin people between beds of nails. It’s all

Mind Zone

Home to one of the visitors’ favorite exhibits, the Gravity Room, Mind Zone helps you discover how the mind processes, interprets and creates illusions and perceptions. You won’t believe what you see! Check out the new Intelligent Guitar and other great sound-related exhibits.

Water Works

Discover the slippery science of water with an entire Learning World dedicated to exploring nature’s most powerful resource. Our water and erosion tables, fascinating weather exhibits including our brand new Hurricane Chamber and Water Vortex are sure to delight the most inquisitive minds at every age.

Little KIDSPACE

Our littlest adventurers (kindergarten and under) nurture their development in the hospital, shop in the imaginary grocery store or climb on our favorite Treehouse while learning science fundamentals about forces, motion, math and science.

Little KIDSPACE Science Studio/Storytime

Every day in Little KIDSPACE Science Studio, a special hands-on activity area within Little KIDSPACE, one of our qualified team members sits down with the kids and reads them a story, then facilitates a complimentary activity with kids.

Visitors will have a chance to excavate their way through piles of shale, from right here in Northwest Ohio, in search of fossils that they can take home. Learn how to carefully extract real pieces of Earth’s history, preserved and waiting to be found by you.

This sensory filled exhibition will have visitors of all ages challenging their knowledge of dinosaurs and prehistoric facts, reconstructing bones and fitting together missing pieces of those that roamed the earth so long ago.
