During the past two months, students in Penta Career Center’s Culinary Arts program have been busy creating a six-foot tall, gingerbread house. The giant gingerbread house, along with 30 smaller gingerbread houses created by the students, are on display at Imagination Station through the holidays. Visitors are encouraged to view the creations and vote on their favorite house.

We opened another new exhibit today, December 1, 2010! The Blade exhibit wall features a 12 foot tall front page of the Blade that works like a giant magnetic poetry wall. It also features a video kiosk 'The Story Behind the Stories', which follows a story from the moment it happens to when it lands on your doorstep. A big thank you to The Blade for their tremendous support of Imagination Station!

Saturday, October 23, 2010 was a night filled with ghoulish fun. We had over 700 people enjoying the festivities that evening, which included a spooky science demonstration, costume parade and goody bags.

Imagination Station participated in the City of Toledo Coed Adult Softball League this Summer. Every Tuesday night, the team would go out, play their best and have a lot of fun doing it! Here are some pictures of their last game of the season. Great job team!

Saturday, August 7, 2010, Imagination Station welcomed renowned paleontologist Dr. Scott Sampson. Dr. Scott is the host of the PBS animated series Dinosaur Train. Over 1300 people visited and a great time was had by all.

We presented the Toledo Zoo on July 18th for an exciting show about Reptiles and Raptors. Toledo Zoo Ambassador, Steve Oswanski, introduced some amazing creatures to science center visitors. Oswanski featured a Screech Owl, Big Hawk, Tortoise and a Burmese Python. Visitors were able to meet the animals, up close and personal, in Science Studio.

June 28th we kicked off the 1st week of our summer camp; Catapults, Coasters and Cars! The kids all had a blast setting off rockets, building catapults and exploring the science center.These weeklong camps are running throughout the summer and there is still room to sign up. The BIG DIG, Footprints to Fossils, opened over Memorial Day weekend, 2010. It kicked off with Carl Jara, world champion sand sculptor, turning 25 tons of sand into a larger-than-life dinosaur scene. Thursday, June 3, we welcomed over 800 members and their guests to the science center for a special members only viewing of the exhibition. Come take a piece of history home with you at The BIG DIG, now through September 6.

On May 17, 2010, Imagination Station played host to WTOL's salute to the region's brightest student's, Best of the Class. Commercials airing their time here will be broadcasting throughout the summer.

On Saturday, May 15, 2010, over 30 Honors and AP Physics students from St. Francis de Sales High School set up and demonstrated 6 solar activities for Imagination Station visitors to explore.

Imagination Station was chosen by Disney to be a volunteer recipient for their Give a Day, Get a Disney Day volunteer initiative. Over 600 volunteers participated, including the final event where over 300 volunteers canvassed the region dropping off posters and flyers about Imagination Station.

With the grand opening of our 2nd traveling exhibit, Animation, we had a couple of special visitors to Imagination Station. Ben 10 visited over the weekend and helped make LN2 ice cream with a special group of friends. And when Nemo on Ice was in town, the skaters came over, with Mickey and Minnie and did a special demonstration on water conservation for a lucky classroom of kids.

On February 24, 2010, Imagination Station opened a new interactive exhibit called LIVE Report!, which features green screen technology and gives kids a chance to sit behind the desk and be the sports broadcaster. LIVE Report! is sponsored by Buckeye CableSystem.

We celebrated National Chemistry week with our visitors by partnering with the local American Chemical Society. Volunteers, students and faculty from the region conducted basic chemistry demonstrations for all.

Wise About Eyes is designed to educate Ohio’s children and their caregivers about ways that they can keep their eyes healthy and safe. The exhibit is on display at Imagination Station through June 27, 2010.

On Friday, May 14, 2010, American Idol finalist and Northwest Ohio native, Crystal Bowersox, was welcomed to town by a massive parade, then she entertained the crowd with a couple of songs. Imagination Station team members and our 'Lab'rador, Gizmo did too!
