Imagination Station STEMinist Virtual Cosmetic Chemistry Celebrates Self Care and Science
(TOLEDO, Ohio) - Pamper yourself and discover the spectacular science behind your favorite cosmetics from the comfort of your home. STEMinist Virtual Cosmetic Chemistry is a unique event that brings chemistry and your favorite beauty products together to showcase what’s possible with science.
This interactive virtual experience is perfect for women, girls (ages eight and up) and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) enthusiasts. Under the guidance of fantastic local STEM professionals, Cosmetic Chemistry highlights the importance of STEM. Participants will learn and get hands-on and make their very own rejuvenating face mask and shower jelly.
Leading the conversation is Dr. Amanda Bryant-Friedrich, a proud Imagination Station Board member, STEMinist and dean of the graduate school at Wayne State University. Dr. Bryant-Friedrich will discuss her journey as a woman in a male-dominated STEM field to inspire listeners and spark a passion for science in youth.
Then, discover the role chemistry plays in cosmetic creation with Dr. Gabi Baki, assistant professor of pharmaceutics and director of the cosmetic science and formulation design program at The University of Toledo
