NEW themes:
Cycles in Science, Forces and Motion, Careers in Science!

One Wednesday per month
10:30am  Noon
This monthly program, for students 7–12 years old, has a NEW look for the 2019-20 school year! The program will be focused around three themes: Cycles in Science, Forces and Motion and Careers in Science. Come ready to explore hands-on science and learn with other families.

Cycle in Science Series

Water Cycle - September 25, 2019
Take a trip through the wonderful world of water as your students explore the water cycle. Students will discover the various forms water can take and the way it travels through a variety of experimentation and demonstrations.

Rock Cycle - October 9, 2019
Igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary - rocks make up the world we live on! Students will explore the three classifications of rocks, as well as how each one is made and how they can transform into each other.

Life Cycle - November 6, 2019
All living things have a pattern to how they grow and change. During this workshop, students will explore the life cycles of a variety of plants and animals.

Forces and Motion Series:

Magnetism - December 4, 2019
Students will learn all about magnets and what they attract through hands-on exploration, then discover how magnets are used in real life applications.

Marble Machines - January 8, 2020
During this workshop, students will experiment with types of motion, potential and kinetic energy and forces such as gravity and friction, while working in teams to solve an engineering challenge.

Balloon Cars - February 5, 2020
Using the engineering design process, students will experiment with air power, and Newton's Third Law to create a balloon car that travels the farthest.

Careers in Science Series:

Engineering - March 4, 2020
Engineers are the world's problem solvers. During this workshop, students will learn more about the different types of engineering and get the opportunity to be engineers themselves!

Entomology - April 1, 2020
Students will learn more about the field of entomology and become entomologists themselves as they get up close and personal with insects!

Paleontology - May 6, 2020
Paleontologists have a passion for prehistoric life. In this workshop, students will discover how paleontologists learn about that life by using the fossil record. Students will also test out their own paleontology skills.
